Sr. Design Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented professional to join our Design & Engineering team. This role is central to the design, development, and validation of new parts and products, ensuring they meet customer specifications and industry standards. The position involves close coordination with cross-functional teams—including Production, Quality, Sales, and Marketing—throughout the product development lifecycle, from initial concept to final handover.

Design and Engineering 

• Design & development of new parts and products as per the required specification
• Recording of technical data of samples given by the customer
• Documentation of new development processes and products, such as design validation plan, Input data, Output data, etc.
• Dimensional checking and validating its parameters according tothe  drawing in the new development till the handover given to production
• Releasing all drawings and documents from the new development to Q-Inc once the production trial and 1st sample are submitted to customer
• Preparing BOM in SWAN(ERP) software as per sales code
• Reviewing customer drawings based on the order code placed by Sales and Marketing, and  for new customer enquiries
• Verifying the inspection table from the customer drawing with the sales and validation department
• Coordination with the production department, Bill of material (If any changes in BOM)
• Finalisation and approval of the Drawings, BOM and item masters.
• Testing coordination with production & quality w.r.t. Design.
• Trial coordination with the production & quality departments (whenever required).
• Based on correction inputs from production, QC dept.,  verify the necessary changes in design /specification.
• Release the new drawing, BOM to QC, production, purchase,  sales, and stores for the newly developed product.  NPRN closing date within 5 days.
• Maximise usage of Design and Testing Software Tools like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.
• Monitoring activities of the internal Department.
• Approval of initiated changes from any departments
• Monitoring of DCRN along with the targeted date & actual completion date, and ensuring changes in all connected chains of documents.
• Monitor all the activities of the CUSTOMER DEVELOPMENT AND ADAPTATION CENTER.
• Ensure the timely delivery of CDAC items and coordinate with the marketing department to prioritise.

Others

• Assembly and testing of samples given by the customer for existing & new development products
• Study of customer samples, checking its feasibility in the design & development stage
• Making flow charts, work instructions and other documents
• Familiar with the usage of Design software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks and Gearteq. etc.
• Giving inputs to the sales & marketing department about customer drawings
• Random checking of operations performed on the shop floor.
• Should be well versed with using all checking instruments like Vernier, Micrometer, Dial Gauge and Pin Gauges, etc.
• Handling the team and internal work in the absence of other colleagues

System & MIS: Submission of MIS should be done on a timely basis

ERP/Relevant software Implementation: Ensuring effective use of ERP/Relevant software  for the entire design function

Certifications: Follow all compliances with respect to UL, CSA, CE and other certifications.

Training & development

1) Conduct in-house training for developing subordinates about:

1. Policies and procedures.
2. Protocols.
3. M.I.S.
4. Upgrade technical knowledge
5. ISO, ASME, Safety, CE, 5S and other certification processes

2) Provide training to Production, Quality, Sales and Marketing departments about the assembly and its CTQ parameters in the development stage
